If you’re wondering who I am, my name is Sarah and since April 2017 I have been a Social Science Adviser in the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST).
Prior to that, I was based at Exeter University, where I was doing a PhD in Linguistics.
I started this blog in 2015 at the same time as pausing my PhD to do a three month postgraduate fellowship at POST. The idea was to blog about the experience, which I did.
Rather than send this blog to the grave when my POST fellowship ended, I decided to keep it up as a platform for sharing some of the things I learned once I returned to the land of PhD.
Now that I’m working in POST I’ll be blogging less, but I will still blog from time to time, so keep your eyes peeled.

Hi Sarah,
Can we republish your pdf summarising 9 ways to get your research into parliament on our new Sussex policy blog? We will credit you accordingly and link to the full blog?
With thanks,
